Change the naming of “CPU Protection” to “Safeguard Engine” 3. Modify the maximum of jumbo frame size from 9000 bytes to 9216 bytes. 4. F/W compatible with RoHS version ====================================================================== Firmware: V3.00B21 (Runtime), V2.00B20 (Prom) Hardware: A1 (DES-6500/6502/6505/6507/6509/6512) Hardware: B1 (DES-6504/6508/6510) Date: Dec 22, 2005 Enhancements: 1. Support ACL function improvement - Based on IPv6 address 2. Support ACL function improvement - Based on IPv6 traffic class 3. Support ACL function improvement - Based on IPv6 flow label 4. Support ACL function improvement - Enhanced per port ACL to relocate “port” parameter from “MASK” to “Rule” configuration 5. Support DHCP Relay option 82 6. Support CPU protection 7. Support Packet Strom Control 8. Support Editable login Banner 9. Support STP Loopback Detection 10. Support IP Multicast- IGMP v3 11. Enlarge the maximum of ACL rule entries to 9600 for whole DES-6500 system.( Please refer to manual regarding the optimized condition) 12. Web UI supports non-IE browser 13. Limit the access by passwords generated by "D-Link PWD calculator". Before, if customers forgot their configured passwords, D-Link could generate passwords based on the MAC addresses provided by customers via D-Link HQ maintained PWD calculator. Thus customers can use those "backdoor" passwords via telnet/ web/ console to logon to their switch again. Now the access of those passwords generated by "D-Link PWD calculator" will be limited to console access only. This is to minimize the security concern. Problems Resolved: 2. Fix the problem if user deletes one or some IP interfaces then reboot the system, the MAC addresses of IP interfaces will be changed 3. Fix the security issues recently reported for unauthorized system access. Note: -Due to a backward compatible issue, when a user upgrades to firmware V3.00B21, all settings previously configured for any ACL function (CPU ACL included) on the switch will be lost. We recommend that the user save a configuration file of current settings before upgrading to firmware V3.00B21. - This is a recommended security patch for your customers. ================================== ============================================== Firmware: V2.50B12 (Runtime), V2.00B20 (Prom) Hardware: A1 (DES-6500/6502/6505/6507/6509/6512) Hardware: B1 (DES-6504/6508/6510) Date: Aug 31, 2005 Enhancements: 1. Support Be able to categorize log to 3 levels and to configure which level to trigger logging 16. Support Static ARP entries enlarge from 32 to 255 17. Enlarge static route (from 32 to 128) 18. Enlarge IP interface number (from 32 to 256 more) Warning: 1. To work with R2.00-B20 runtime code, we suggest upgrade PROM code version to 2.00-B20. 2. User MUST upgrade runtime code version of CPU card and Line card(s) to R2.00-B20 first, then user can upgrade PROM code to 2.00-B20 by TFTP. And ONLY support upgrade PROM code in CLI. 3. If the runtime code version of the DES-6500 system is older than 1.30-B02, user MUST upgrade the runtime code to 1.30-B02 before upgrade it to 2.00-B20. In this version, the CPU card upgrading MUST be early than line cards. ================================== ============================================== Firmware: R1.40-B03 (Runtime), B1.50-B19 (Prom) Hardware: A1 Date: March 29, 2005 Problems Resolved: 1. DES-6500 D-Link IQC 1.30B02 tested found items: (1) IP Address Invalid (IE, Safari, Firefox, Netscape) (2) ACL select IP type has no effect (Firefox, Netscape) (3) ACL Invalid MAC Address (Firefox, Netscape) 2. Incorrect spelling in the web interface to both the DES-6500 and all switches in the xStack series. Location: Configuration - Layer 3 IP Networking - Static/Default Route Original incorrect spelling: "IP Adderss " Correct spelling: "IP Address" 3. DES-6500" Vlan Name" is not displayed in website The Vlan name in "Switch IP Settings" is not displayed. <- - - Problem Web interface path: Configuration - - -> Switch IP Settings ================================== ============================================== Firmware: R1.30-B02 (Runtime), B1.50-B19 (Prom) Hardware: A1 Date: January 24, 2005 Enhancements: 2. Add DES-6504 Line card support 3. Support Port description 4. Support CPU utilization monitoring 5. Support ACL - Best Case per port 100 ACL entries times port number Warning: 1. The whole DES-6500 system must be upgraded to same version number of runtime code. 2. For all users, it is necessary that upgrade your system to R1.20-B09 before upgrade to R1.30-B02. ================================== ============================================== Firmware: R1.20-B09 (Runtime), B1.50-B19 (Prom) Hardware: A1 Date: December 03, 2004 Problems Resolved: 1. Multicast traffic was found packet loss while sending more than 210 multicast streams with wirespeed over PIM distribution. 2. While distributing multicast traffic via DVMRP, packet will lose while sending wirespeed multicast streams and meanwhile there's IGMP join & leave. 3. GVRP update wasn't complete if the networks were built in loop topology. 4. Multicast streams were distributed via multicast routing protocol in L3 loop architecture that there'll be packet loss. 5. GuangZhou HW Default Issue: While setting a default route, DES-6500 will learn each destination IP address and write it into ARP table. When ARP table is full, packets which destination is not learned will be send to CPU for software routing. This caused the CPU utilization high. 6. GuangZhou Virus Attack Issue: Virus packets will be sent to CPU due to LookUp Fail. It makes DES-6500 CPU utilization very high. Even user set up ACL rules to filter this kind of packets, the CPU utilization is still high. 7. WEB UI display error 8. GVRP state can not save after saving configuration and reboot. 9. WEB Display Scenario after device reboot and login again. 10. DES-6500 (with DES-6507) Configure as L3 Switch has problem to perform NFS for file transfer between two difference subnet. Enhancements: 6. Add DES-6508 line card support 7. Add DES-6510 line card support 8. Support VRRP function 9. Support HW default route ===== F/W Ver. 1.01-B40 (July, 2004) ============================================== New features: Add DES-6505 Line card support Fixed: 1. Multicast software routing 2. PIM-DM multiple path, Link down the original path, it will not choose another one. 3. Download configuration of 4k vlan, device will reboot ===== F/W Ver. 1.01-B26 (June, 2004) ============================================== 1. First release version, support DES-6507/DES-6509 line cards. For the function/features, please refer to the Manual or datasheet. 2. When upgrading, upgrade the line cards firmware and then CPU board firmware. Line cards and CPU board must have the same firmware version.
