Hope the weather are good
and the girls nice to you. I have been
struggling
with the DF-3000 and yesterday I think I have it up and
running as it should. I will test it tomorrow at my
customers site.
To be
able to get it to run properly you have to do the
following:
1. Change the EEPROM
on the modules DF-3001 and
DF-3040.
I have sent 3 EEPROM's to you yesterday. I will make about 15
EEPROM's for DF-3040 and 10 for DF-3001 today. I need 10
DF-3040 and 7 DF-3001 myself.
2. Together with the
binaryfiles there is a program
called
DF3000DL.EXE that's needed to download new software. This is
the
tricky part if you don't know how to enter SETUP mode in
the
DF-3000.
3. Use a
terminalprogram, like Telix. Put it up at a speed
of
9600 bps, 8 databits, 1 stop bit and no parity on
COM1.
4. Start the DF-3000.
When it's booting press the + (plus)
key
and then wait. You will no get a message asking if you like to
see
the postcode or make a download. Answer 2 (download). You
are
then asked for which slotnumber to download to. Answer 0
(zero) for the DF-3001 module.
5. Now you should
exit the program, (Telix), and start
the
DF3000DL.EXE like below:
DF3000DL DF-3040.BIN
The
DF3000DL only work on COM1.
6. When the file is
downloaded completly the DF3000DL
calculate
the checksum. After that it tells you to turn of the
DF-3000
and gives a message saying "Press ESC to exit". DON'T DO
THAT.
Start the DF-3000 and you will see the bootup procedure.
When
finished you can continue to upgrade your DF-3040
module.
7. Unpack the
DF3000DV.EXE in a library and install it under
D-View. When done
change the DF3000.EXE to 3000MGM.EXE that is
newer. Make the
download of the binaryfile DF3040.104 as normal.
The files you have
got is DF3040.BIN. I got a newer file today
which improve the LED
functions. This file is called
DF3040.104.
This should be all. You are now up and running with
a FUNCTIONAL
DF-3000. I you get any problem please
call, mail or fax me.
